Standing up for the ill treated and falsely accused!
Standing up for the ill treated and falsely accused!

When I first began considering venturing into the realm of podcasting regarding the fiduciary industry, I had thought this was going to be a way for me to try to drum up a network of support for licensed fiduciaries that have faced mentally and/or emotionally challenging experiences, and complicated case issues that leave us perplexed or without an answer for a ward facing challenges. And highlighting various industries that we utilize everyday by holding conversations with other professionals working with seniors and disabled individuals. I believed that our jobs would be made much easier if we had a known and well organized, perhaps even a published list of resources that would aid us in resolving complex matters. Wow!!!! So much has been happening and I am once again uncovering more disturbing and distressing patterns of behaviors and issues that I am going to take on to resolve unfair practices, targeting, and an all out lack of protections for licensed fiduciaries. But I have also learned that we are not the only ones suffering at the hands of bias, deceit, and unfair treatment. There are families that have had traumatic experiences while working with attorney's and fiduciaries. Someone needs to tell their stories too. I know that change is necessary, but not for the reasons you might think. While I fully support strict oversight of the licensed fiduciary. That oversight keeps us honest, well speaking for myself anyway. And it generally provides the public with peace of mind. However, I am finding that it also puts fiduciaries in a vulnerable position and ripe for picking. We have tons of oversight but no protections in place to prevent people from making false allegations or accusations. Perhaps if people knew there was stiff penalties and punishments for filing false claims, they would think twice before doing it. This shouldn’t only apply to the general public. Every person that makes false allegations, unproven accusations or defamatory statements should face serious consequences. Such as fines, potential jail time, or being sued for slander, liable, or defamation. Any professional (for example, an attorney, an investigator, another fiduciary end even a board member should immediately lose their ability to practice in their field. Processes that are intended to provide oversight of our industry have proven to also be an easy way for jilted parties to falsely accuse fiduciaries of wrong doing. And in the process of "investigating", some licensing division investigators seem to approach the investigation with a preconceived notion or a presumption of guilt. So not only are we the easy target of false allegations, there aren’t any consequences for those who commit the act. I want to change that, I want to fix it.
